So I’m watching this Hurricane relief concert telethon on NBC and Kanye West and Mike Meyers are up there.

Mike Meyers begins with stuff that I can’t remember now and then, THEN, Kanye West, looking rather nervous, starts going on about how George Bush hates doesn’t like black people and that the people they are bringing over to help, have permission to shoot them and he mentioned the blacks = looting, whites = finding thing too and that because mostly the poor were left behind, they aren’t treated the same. Or something to that effect.

Brilliant.

They quickly cut away to Chris Tucker before Kanye could say anything else though.

Wow. Just wow.

Update: I’ve obtained video of Kanye’s impromptu speech. You can download it by clicking here [wmv] or here [avi].

Kanye West:

I hate the way they portray us in the media. You see a black family it says they are looting. You see a white family it says they are looking for food. And you know there’s been five days because most of the people are black and even for me to complain about it, I would be a hypocrite because I try to turn away from the teacher… TV because it is too hard to watch. I’ve even been shopping before even giving a donation, so now I’m calling my business manager right now to see what is the biggest amount I can give.

And and just to imagine if I was down there, those are my people down there, so if anybody out there that’s wants to do anything, we can help, with the setup, the way America is setup, the poor, the black people, the less well off, as SLOW as possible, I mean, this is, Red Cross is doing everything they can (Mike Myers nodding his head) we already realize a lot of the people that could help are at war right now fighting another way, they given them permission to go down and SHOOT US.

George Bush doesn’t care about black people.
